Wild Camping

Legal in Scotland under Land Reform Act 2003 (follow Scottish Outdoor Access Code). Legal in parts of Dartmoor. Elsewhere in England/Wales — landowner’s permission required.

Essential Equipment

Tent: 3,000mm HH minimum waterproof rating. Sleeping bag: comfort-rated for the season. Mat: R-value 2+ summer, 4+ spring/autumn. Stove, head torch, cool box. Campervan hire from £60/day (Goboony, Indie Campers).

Countryside Code

Leave no trace. Take litter home. Keep dogs under control. Close gates. No fires unless permitted. Park only in designated areas.
